Managing people is an art, not a science. I think that I’ve become a pretty good manager — with time and experience, with feedback and mentoring. There were times when I wasn’t so great, though. Here is a list of my epic management fails and what I’ve learned.
Most developers are passionate about learning and are always seeking to learn and discuss and debate and code. We primarily function in the online space but there’s nothing like learning and engaging face to face at conferences and off-site training. But this means travel and registration fees.
